Class Features
All of the following are class features of the Lil’ witch NPC class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Lil’ witches are skilled with the dagger, power rod, and quarterstaff. Lil’ witches are not proficient with any type of armor or shield. Heavier armor interferes with a lil’ witch’s movements, which can cause her spells with somatic components to fail.
Spells
A lil’ witch casts either black mage spells or white mage spells, which are drawn from the black mage or white mage spell list. On creation, the lil’ witch decides what spell list she will learn. A lil’ witch begins play with 1 1st level spell of her choice. The lil’ witch also selects a number of additional 1st-level spells equal to her Intelligence modifier to add to her list of spells. Each time a character attains a new lil’ witch level, she gains one spell of her choice to add to her list of spells. The free spell must be of spell levels she can cast. Like most mages, a lil’ witch can find or purchase scrolls with spells to add to her repertoire.
To learn or cast a spell, the lil’ witch must have an Intelligence score equal to at least 10 + the spell level (Int 11 for 1st-level spells, Int 12 for 2nd-level spells, and so forth). The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a lil’ witch’s spell is 10 + the spell level + the Lil’ witch’s Intelligence modifier. In addition, a lil’ witch gains additional MP for having a high attribute (Intelligence—see Table: Bonus MP per Day (by Spell Level) on the MP System page).
If the lil’ witch selects white mage spells, she uses her Wisdom score instead of Intelligence.
Cantrips
Lil’ witches learn a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells. These spells are cast like any other spell, but they do not consume MP and may be used again. Lil’ witches begin with 2 0-level spells and gain an additional 0-level spell every three levels after 1st level.
Summon Familiar
At 2nd level, a lil’ witch gains the Familiar feat as a bonus feat.
