Complication (Physical)
EFFECT
Value 2 JP per level
DESCRIPTION
The superhero has suffered damage to his sight. The nature of the image is such that it cannot be repaired by either technological, supernatural, or magical means, and powers or feats cannot compensate for the penalties associated with it. The superhero can take this power with Blindsight, because that’s exactly what it’s meant for.
- Level 1 (2 JP) Nearsighted: His attack rolls take a -1 penalty and his opponents have a +1 to attack the superhero. The superhero takes a -2 penalty on all Perception checks.
- Level 2 (4 JP) Partially Blind: His attack rolls take a -2 penalty and our opponents have a +2 to attack the superhero. The superhero takes a -6 penalty on all Perception checks. The superhero can read only over-sized printing in books or on computers.\
- Level 3 (6 JP) Totally Blind: Everything has full concealment for the superhero. The superhero has a 50% miss chance in combat. The superhero loses his Dexterity bonus to AC, if any, and his opponents have a +2 bonus on attack rolls. The superhero automatically fails all Perception checks, as well as any other effort to detect things based on sight.
additional comps
- Additional Comp: Night/Day Blindness (Value: special): The superhero suffers his Impaired Vision penalties only during the day or at night (player’s choice). For one hour around dawn and dusk, the superhero suffers half the penalties. Partial Blindness becomes Nearsightedness, and Total Blindness becomes Partial Blindness (as above). This Additional Comp halves the value of his Blindness. Prerequisite: The superhero must have the Partially Blind or Total Blind complication to gain credit from this complication.
