Knight companions treat Diplomacy and Intimidation as class skills.
Not Quite Animal
The DC to use Handle Animal on a knight companion is 5 higher, as if it were a nonanimal with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2.
Wise Chocobo (Ex)
The knight companion uses its Wisdom modifier for all Charisma-related skills. In addition, the knight companion become proficient with all bardings.
This ability replaces share senses.
Defensive Chocobo (Ex)
At 3rd level, the knight companion gains the defensive stance class feature as a knight of its hit dice — 2.
This ability replaces evasion.
Armored Chocobo (Ex)
At 6th level, the knight companion gains armor training class feature as a knight of its hit dice — 2.
This ability replaces devotion.
Protector (Ex)
At 9th level, the knight companion gains shield ally class feature as a knight of its hit dice — 2, but cannot use it on a ally currently mounting them.
This ability replaces multiattack.
Improved Defensive Chocobo (Ex)
At 14th level, the knight companion gains the improved defensive stance as a knight of its hit dice — 2. In addition, the knight companion may choose a knight talent that modifies defensive stance, using its hit dice to count as knight levels for prerequisites.
This ability replaces improved evasion.
Tireless Defense (Ex)
At 18th level, the knight companion gains the tireless stance class feature as a knight. In addition, the knight companion may choose a knight talent or advanced knight talent that modifies defensive stance, using its hit dice to count as knight levels for prerequisites.
This ability replaces blood bond.
